To bring realism to one's classroom and writing, Nirmalya believes it is essential to be deeply steeped in the corporate world to have an understanding of best practices in marketing and keep abreast of current challenges facing companies.

Consulting activities are problem solving sessions with groups of managers. Recent problems addressed include facing price pressure, channel migration strategy, brand deletion, global account management, service excellence, and developing emotional brand propositions.

In speaking engagements, Nirmalya employs the art of story telling to make thoughtful concepts come alive when sprinkled with memorable examples.

His consulting and speaking engagements have taken him through more than 40 countries and 50 Fortune 500 companies He serves or has served on the Boards of Directors of ACCBata India, BP Ergo and Zensar Technologies.
