Guidelines for participation

The EWFC is an annual conference that was started in 2006.  It is a small, informal conference that brings together researchers from Europe, the USA and elsewhere and offers excellent opportunities for in-depth discussion of a small number of papers. 

The 2013 EWFC will be held in Flims-Laax, Switzerland.  Flims is a traditional Swiss village in the canton of Graubunden with excellent access to Zurich airport  and international rail connections (2 hours 20 minutes transit time from airport to hotel).  Its magnificent Alpenarena ski area is one of the best and largest in Switzerland and offers fabulous opportunities for skiers of all levels with long scenic runs as well as marked ungroomed itineraries, ski-touring opportunities and cross-country trails.  For the second year we are proud to be holding the conference at the Hotel Schweizerhof, a medium-size traditional family-owned hotel with excellent modern conference facilities.

The 2013 conference programme will have eight scheduled papers with discussants.  There will also be an informal poster session at which discussants and session chairs will have the opportunity to give a brief research presentation. 

Participants pay their accommodation costs plus a registration fee of CHF 200.00 to cover costs of the seminar facilities.  The hotel cost will be in the region of CHF 300.00 per night including breakfast and evening meals.
